Integrated Pest Management Emerging Technologies and Sustainable Approaches
This book provides an overview of recent trends in entomology, encompassing advances in biological control, pheromone-based techniques, genetic control, and precision agriculture. It examines recent developments in pest detection, cultural, biological, and chemical control methods, and their practical applications in agriculture and food processing systems. It also discusses the increasing use of molecular techniques in pest management, such as RNA interference and gene editing, while highlighting the importance of data-driven decision-making. Additionally, it emphasizes the use of remote sensing and other technologies to monitor pest populations and predict outbreaks. This book further underscores the role of integrated pest management (IPM) in sustainable agriculture, addressing the necessity to balance pest management with environmental protection and the preservation of beneficial organisms. The book chapters explore future trends and prospects in entomology, including the utilization of artificial intelligence, robotics, and other emerging technologies. This book serves as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners of entomology aiming to enhance pest management practices and promote sustainable agriculture.
